In Case You're Interested... Here's a Little Bit About Me!

I'm Emilia. I am a native of Colorado living in this beautiful state. I thought my background could never have set me up for this line of work, but I was wrong. I've never been happier! I began working in commercial kitchens when I was 14 years old- and did so all through high school. By then it was my second "job," as I had volunteered at a stable from 12-14.
That's my dog Jade diving for her frisbee!

I worked in kitchens and restaurants all the way through college, finally earning my Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management and Business Administration.
With the front of the house under my belt, I shipped myself off to culinary school. I earned my AOS in culinary arts, plus a degree in advanced pastry-- graduating at the top of both of my classes. During those years I got my first dog (an angel of a Bernese Mountain Dog), got married, and then I finally got to come home. But being home has not been all I expected it to be.... |

I found a great job that ended fairly promptly-- as restaurant jobs often do-- when the restaurant folded 5 months after I was hired. After trying a couple of other unhappy jobs, I decided to go it alone, and open my own place. It was pure joy, and so much fun! But life often throws us balls we are not quite ready to catch...
That's Joss tracking the ball...

I tell people that everything was perfect about my wedding... except the groom. Likewise, everything was perfect about my restaurant... except the timing. With the recession hitting, the attacks didn't help, and a failing marriage meant for unhappiness in spades.
My fun year involved losing my business I loved so much, getting a nasty divorce, and going
Ugh!

This is a South Park character my friend made of me during those dark days... I'm doing much better now!

All I can say is I had nowhere to go but out or up.
So I chose up! A few more miserable jobs showed me that I was ready to retire from food-service and find something else that treated me better, and paid me MUCH better. And that's what I have done! I now work from home-- full time for now as I grow my businesses. I'm working on five websites, making a respectable living which I expect will go up, and I'm so happy. My life is now shared with a husband more wonderful that anyone I could have imagined, two kind, funny, and fairly naughty dogs, and one lovely tabby cat who has the soul of a dog. |

I love the internet for so many reasons- The connection to those all over the world- The speed with which we can get news and information- The research abilities that far exceed the Encyclopedia Britanica I grew up with And, yes, for the ability of people like you and me to shed their bad jobs and worse bosses, and make the money we all deserve to have... But most of all I love it for the voice and name it gives to people for whom lifestyle or shyness might never have allowed such. For this reason I hope to contribute a small amount towards keeping it honest, clean and good for all of us to use. |

In my journey to find work online, I have encountered many sites and tools that claim to be helpful. My review page is intended to help others who are looking for quality products... or for information on not-so-quality products too! At the end of each review, I'll give you a Recommend or Do Not Recommend according to my experience. I hope these pages are helpful to you. I'd love your feedback. |
